Pardubice Airport surpasses historic milestone: over 200,000 passengers passed through its gates

East Bohemian Airport is pleased to announce that it achieved a record-breaking number of passengers handled during the last season. A total of 200,205 passengers passed through the airport, marking a 60% increase compared to 2023.

“This historic record is a clear sign of the growing interest in air travel from Pardubice and the increasing demand for air transport, both internationally and domestically. In addition to regular flights, we also offer our customers a wide range of charter flights to attractive destinations,” said Jindřich Tauber, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“The year 2024 was a historic milestone for our airport. Achieving a record in passenger numbers is also the result of our continuous efforts to provide the highest level of service to every traveler. Our goal remains to invest in innovation and sustainability to ensure comfortable, safe, and efficient travel for our visitors,” Tauber added.

Key factors contributing to the record growth include the increased interest in tourist flights, which led to a rise in flight frequency and rotations. “The airport also recorded a higher number of international travelers, indicating its growing popularity on the global stage,” noted Tauber.

For the airport’s management, reaching this milestone is also a major challenge. “We are very proud of this success, which reflects teamwork, perseverance, and our constant drive to improve. The record number of passengers confirms the trust our customers place in us. We believe that in the upcoming season, we will be able to offer even better experiences and greater comfort to our passengers,” said Mária Luticová, CEO of the company.

Last year, Pardubice Airport saw not only a significant increase in passengers but also in the number of flights and an expanded selection of destinations. “This growth was supported by infrastructure development, including strategic partnerships with travel agencies CK FISCHER and EXIM Tours, as well as service enhancements for travelers,” Luticová added.

Growth Expected to Continue

“To ensure greater comfort and smoother check-in processes, we implemented new procedures last year for faster and more efficient passenger screening, which significantly improved the overall travel experience. We also strengthened our cooperation with airlines and travel agencies, expanding the range of flights to popular destinations,” continued the CEO.

“The growing number of passengers is not only a sign of quality work but also a motivation for further improvement. We want every visit to our airport to be comfortable and pleasant for travelers,” she added.

The airport is also looking forward to the upcoming season, during which it expects further passenger growth, driven by new flight routes and planned development projects aimed at improving comfort and service efficiency. Due to scheduled repairs of the runway by the Czech Army, the airport will be temporarily closed, resuming operations on June 1, 2025.

“We would like to thank all our passengers for their support. This record-breaking year is just the beginning, and we look forward to the next season, which will bring new challenges and opportunities. Together with our partners and team, we will continue striving to provide the best possible service,” Luticová concluded, emphasizing that Pardubice Airport remains a key transport hub and an important player in both regional and international air travel. “We expect the record growth in passenger numbers to continue in the coming years, confirming the airport’s stable development and high-quality infrastructure for all travelers.”
