RUSLAN AT OUR AIRPORT

Typical April weather accompanied the arrival and departure of the giant cargo plane Antonov AN-124 Ruslan to the Statutory City of Pardubice, which arrived from Leipzig, Germany and after loading continued to Ostend Airport in Belgium. The next scheduled arrival will be on Saturday, April 10.

Arrival time April 10 at 12:00, departure time April 10 at 2:00 p.m. The plane is operated by the Ukrainian company Antonov Airlines and is often used by the Army of the Czech Republic to transport cargo. Ruslan is an iconic aircraft that holds 21 world records. It belongs to the largest aircraft in the world and is also the largest that Pardubice Airport has ever handled.

Let’s mention another, smaller event of the day, and that is the use of our airport for backup needs in case of bad weather conditions. Due to a heavy snow shower over Hradec Králové, a pair of Cessna 172 aircraft of the DSA aviation school were forced to land near us. Both aircraft used the eastern apron to stand.
